Throwback Thursday... to a few weeks ago, when I spent all the days at the beach and the pool. In a two-piece swimsuit. That showed my stomach.
☀️ This time last year, you couldn’t have paid me to do this. My tummy hadn’t seen the sun in 13 years. I was a mom who had carried and birthed 7 babies in 10 years. I had been pregnant or breastfeeding or both for 13 years. I had barely begun the healing process after discovering my secondary hypothyroidism, via a non-functioning pituitary and mega adrenal fatigue. 😅 Here’s what shifted: ☝🏻 Self. Freaking. Love. I had to love the body I had and HONOR IT for the work it had done. ✌🏻 ALL the self-care. I learned how to listen to my body and stop eating foods that didn’t resonate with how God made me. I learned how to move my body as a celebration of what I can do. I learned how to detox, how to nourish, how to rest, and how to HEAL. 👌🏻 Duh! Oils & supplements! Guys. I would love to say I drank a magic coffee drink or took a magic pill, then lost 75 pounds and bought a bikini. BIG OLE NOPE. I put good things IN my body. I put good things ON my body. I did that every, single day. I used products that put my body in a place to begin to heal itself. And it is! 🙌🏻 So here’s the deal. I’ve lost 45 pounds in the past year. I’m not at my goal. My tummy still looks like it’s been stretched out to fit a watermelon 7 times. I’m still working. BUT the WORK I HAVE DONE and continue to do is only about 10% about my actual weight and 90% about being HEALED & WHOLE... physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. So, whether I’m at my goal or not, I’m showing up. I was “swimsuit ready” the second I picked out that polka dot swimsuit I loved and put it on my body; the second I laid on the beach in that swimsuit; the second I wore that swimsuit as I searched for sea snails with my 6 year old or splashed in the pool with my 4 year old. ⚡️

Interests
I love to craft. I love to decorate. I am passionate about natural living & natural birthing. Sometimes I write stuff. I plan parties like my life depended on it. My favorite color is pink. My house is definitely NOT taupe. I typically cannot keep plants alive. I am only allowed to have dogs as pets because all others tend to have the same end result as the plants. Luckily my track record with kids is pretty good! Also, I drink a lot of coffee. And I really like tacos. |
