Did you know that essential oils can be used for emotions? In fact, they can play a really strategic role in emotional healing. 💜💜💜
This past week I’ve had a lot of tension. A lot of just cranky, angry tense, frustration. Yesterday morning as I was drinking my coffee, just before my surprise outdoor yoga sesh, I made the connection... see, I’m not exactly in the best shape of my life right now. My emotional state has caused my body to go into protection mode. It’s holding onto things because of the messages I’m giving it. I’ve begun this process of getting in tune with my brain, emotions & intuition lately... checking in, then following my gut, basically. I’ve begun working on the roots of some things in my life. BUT. Sometimes, when we start to dig into roots, we get in there and start to realize that the root system is more complicated than we thought... maybe even intertwined with OTHER root systems! Anybody following me here?! 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♀️
So, I had a feeling this was an emotional thing. I had a feeling there was an oil for that. Lol. Since there always is! I went to my handy dandy book: “Emotions and Essential Oils, A Reference Guide For Emotional Healing”. I searched body tension & found 3 oils. The first two I had already been using... Tension Blend (Past Tense), Massage Blend (AromaTouch)... but the third was Patchouli. My eyes then wandered to the category above... body shame... and I knew exactly, in my gut, what I was dealing with. Surprise! Patchouli is number one on the list. So, I opened up to Patchouli & began to apply it, telling my body that I loved it & appreciated it. I chose to honor it. 💜 As my friend Angela from @mommas_little_biz on Instagram says, “You can’t change what you hate!” 💜 I immediately felt the anger and tension release as I spoke words of love and respect over my body, applying Patchouli to my pulse points. 💜💜💜
It’s only weird if you tell yourself it is guys. What is the story you are telling yourself? What is the story you are speaking over your body? Maybe... just maybe... that’s where you should start?! 💜

I am a mommy of  SEVEN (yes 7) beautiful kids! They are amazing, wonderful, hilarious & the greatest babies I could ask for! I am married to my best friend & high school sweetheart, Michael.

In 2010 I began a blog as an outlet for my writing... and also to talk about how cute my kids were. I had no idea where it would take me. In 2012, after the birth of our 5th child, we began Wonderfully Made Birth. That same year, we received an Autism diagnosis for our 3rd child. A year later, in 2013, we joined doTERRA International as Wellness Advocates. The journey is not easy, but it is ours. Join me as I record our crazy life, inspire other mommas, & laugh along the way!

    Interests
I love to craft. I love to decorate. I am passionate about natural living & natural birthing. Sometimes I write stuff. I plan parties like my life depended on it. My favorite color is pink. My house is definitely NOT taupe. I typically cannot keep plants alive. I am only allowed to have dogs as pets because all others tend to have the same end result as the plants. Luckily my track record with kids is pretty good! Also, I drink a lot of coffee. And I really like tacos.
