We are traveling to the Destin, FL area to visit my brother and his family this week. We are so pumped for warmer weather. Even if it's not super hot, it's better than cold & snow! We're leaving tomorrow and I'm packing like crazy. Of course, not only do I have to get us out the door, I also am cleaning the house, the van, then prepping our house for house sitters and dog sitters. There are one million and one things to do. One thing I'm not worried about though, that I used to always have to keep in the back of my mind, is the atmosphere in our van! I don’t know about you but I like some peace in my life, especially when it comes to road trips. We used to have car rides full of carsick and anxious kiddos. That meant mommy was riding in awkward positions, constantly getting snacks or toys or changing movies in the dvd player to keep everyone happy! The fun part about dōTERRA is they actually have an essential oil blend that is called Peace so I make sure to pack that for all my long car trips, potentially anxious situations with the kids, or just anytime we are all in the car. dōTERRA’s Peace was made as part of their Emotional Aromatherapy System and is only one of six wonderful blends to help keep your and your family’s emotions balanced.
Other oils we always keep on hand on car rides are:
Just a few more hours until we hit the road! Wish us luck!

Ladies. Listen. Yesterday & today was filled with my favorite people. Last night, I had dinner with my two “bestest ever friends”, as Nora says. This was AFTER an afternoon of kiddo-free shopping & Starbucks. ☕️ Then today, I sat at the new local coffee shop for a total of 4.5 hours with some of my dōTERRA ladies! This was a weekend with zero photo evidence, but more community than you can shake a stick at. It's a community that was half given, half created, but all a gift. It reminds me of the beautiful words spoken from the one and only Jen Hatmaker : “See, in the wild, when a mama elephant is giving birth, all the other female elephants in the herd back around her in formation. They close ranks so that the delivering mama cannot even be seen in the middle. They stomp and kick up dirt and soil to throw attackers off the scent and basically act like a pack of badasses. They surround the mama and incoming baby in protection, sending a clear signal to predators that if they want to attack their friend while she is vulnerable, they'll have to get through 40 tons of female aggression first. When the baby elephant is delivered, the sister elephants do two things: they kick sand or dirt over the newborn to protect its fragile skin from the sun, and then they all start trumpeting, a female celebration of new life, of sisterhood, of something beautiful being born in a harsh, wild world despite enemies and attackers and predators and odds. Scientists tell us this: They normally take this formation in only two cases - under attack by predators like lions, or during the birth of a new elephant. This is what we do, girls. When our sisters are vulnerable, when they are giving birth to new life, new ideas, new ministries, new spaces, when they are under attack, when they need their people to surround them so they can create, deliver, heal, recover...we get in formation. We close ranks and literally have each others' backs. You want to mess with our sis? Come through us first. Good luck. And when delivery comes, when new life makes its entrance, when healing finally begins, when the night has passed and our sister is ready to rise back up, we sound our trumpets because we saw it through together. We celebrate! We cheer! We raise our glasses and give thanks. ...Maybe you need this too. If you are closing ranks around a vulnerable sister, or if your girls have you surrounded while you are tender, this is how we do it. There is no community like a community of women." These photos are from our trip to Utah with our Builders this fall.
Here's what I know about community, girls... we ALL need it! When you are questioning your parenting... you need it. When you are upset with your mom... you need it, When you need someone to tell you how it is... when you need someone to listen... when you need to vent... when you need to sit quietly... when you need a hug... when you need an oil... when you need to be pushed... when you need to be reigned in... when you need something, but you don't really know what... THAT IS WHERE THIS COMMUNITY COMES IN! I'll be highlighting this here on the blog, as well as over on Instagram & Facebook this week. So, definitely check that out. But also, if you don't have that community... that family... that support... we would love to invite you into ours! There's nothing quite like a doTERRA family to make you feel honored, heard, loved, and empowered beyond belief! The climate has changed around essential oils. 💜 I have done a lot of vendor/craft shows in the past 4.5 years. I used to ask “are you familiar with essential oils?” and 80% of the people I met would say no. Today, 80% of people HAD heard of them. . However, here’s where the change occurred. I’d say out of that 80%, half were using what they called “generic” oils. First of all, I love that dōTERRA is considered the name brand out there, but it also makes me sad. They smelled our oils and many could tell a difference instantly! One man told me how he cleared an entire shelf of oils as Shop ‘N Save was going out of business and got 20 oils for $2. Then he smelled ours and signed up for 4 classes in the area, because he recognized the quality. . I’ll be honest here, even if it ruffles feathers. A woman who has been using Young Living (not my biggest competitor any more by a long shot) smelled our oils today and said “Where is your card? I need to throw that junk I have at home away. They give me a headache and the Lavender stinks!” When I asked what brand she’s been using and she told me... 😬 I had to agree! It does stink! 🤷🏻♀️ . That’s not my point though. My point is YOU CAN SMELL QUALITY! A recent study even proved that using the “generic” oils (or those that think they’re my biggest competitor) actually proved to have harmful chemical effects when they tested the individual oil constituents! Yet many people think oils are oils! 😢 . Guys!!! They are not all created equal. You get what you pay for. If the company feels icky, dodgy, or weird PLEASE BAIL. You may think you can’t afford the name brand, but really you can’t afford to risk it. Let me share some ways to get your oils paid for and keep the other junk out of your house. I truly believe that sourcing, quality, and transparency will always win in the end. So, you may as well use the right stuff from the start. Don’t waste your time or your health on less than the best. I think it’s HUGE that we can go to www.sourcetoyou.com and actually look up the GCMS reports. The Shop ‘N Save guy liked that too! 💜 . Here’s the Roseman University study I was referring to above! http://www.roseman.edu/2018/10/03/roseman-university-researchers-study-doterra-essential-oils/ |

Interests
I love to craft. I love to decorate. I am passionate about natural living & natural birthing. Sometimes I write stuff. I plan parties like my life depended on it. My favorite color is pink. My house is definitely NOT taupe. I typically cannot keep plants alive. I am only allowed to have dogs as pets because all others tend to have the same end result as the plants. Luckily my track record with kids is pretty good! Also, I drink a lot of coffee. And I really like tacos. |
