Bloom

7/17/2020

𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗺⁣
𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘣⁣
1. to come into or be in full beauty or health; flourish.⁣
⁣
In my back yard, I have this crepe myrtle shrub that has taken FOREVER to fully bloom. 8 years, to be exact. There’s this understanding, in gardening, that it takes a few years to get a FULL BLOOM from your plants. The 1-3 years, you may get some flowering, but it slowly continues to build. Each year, you see more growth; more color; more blooming. 8 years is a little much. Lol. Due to the soil, pests, and environmental threats out of my control, I actually had a year or two, where this thing never even flowered. Despite all of this, as the gardener, I continued to enrich the soil, water the roots, pull the weeds, make sure it gets sun, prune the dead branches, and protect it in the harsh winters. I did not give up on the plant. And this year? This year it is absolutely thriving! It’s about to have its first full bloom and I am a proud momma gardener! 😂🥰⁣
⁣
I’ve been cultivating my own environment for “blooming” for years now. I’ve developed solid self-care routines, removed toxins, found a food plan that works really well for my body, and established a foundation of physical, emotional, and mental health. I’ve been in a season of growth for some time, mostly because I’m obsessed with personal development. I’ve worked for years in my business- learning about my own leadership style, learning how to lead others who are different from me, and letting go of winning over the people who simply aren’t “my people”. It’s all been leading up to this. ⁣
⁣
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶?⁣
Are you blooming in your environment? Do you need to pull out the toxic “weeds” (people, products, etc) draining nutrients from you? Do you need a little more self-care? Do you need to just have patience and rest in God’s timing for you? ⁣
⁣
Don’t give up on the full bloom! ⁣
Keep working. ⁣
Keep cultivating. ⁣
Your health is worth it. ⁣
Your business is worth it. ⁣
Your family is worth it. ⁣

<< The face of a grown-a** woman who knows what she wants, isn’t afraid to ask for it, and refuses to dull who she is even down to the Instagram filter. 🌟⁣
⁣
If you’re new here, let me introduce myself...⁣
⁣
My name is Kourtney Walker-Owens.⁣

✨ I help move women forward towards a free, empowered, dream-driven life! ⁣

💖 I love to partner with people who are future focused, who don’t do drama, and who work hard in every aspect of life. ⁣

☕️ I drink a lot of coffee. ⁣

📲 I have an absurd amount of photos on my phone, always.⁣

☀️ I would drive to the beach, just to stand with my feet in the ocean and the sun on my face for an hour. ⁣

💖 I heart the color pink. Bonus points if there are sparkles involved.⁣

💻 I wrote a book, am recording an audio book, and have plans for a podcast. ⁣

7️⃣ I have a lot of kids. ⁣

😘 My husband is the only boy I ever dated, the only boy I’ve ever kissed, and we’ve been together since we were 15 & 16.⁣

🌿 I love toxin-free, natural living & use essential oils like it’s my job... Fun Fact: IT LITERALLY IS MY JOB.⁣

🌮 I can (and often do) eat tacos for every meal.⁣

😬 I use all caps & emojis when I type because it’s the closest thing to sarcasm & talking with my hands.

💖 I think sloths are fascinating & magical.⁣
⁣
The End. ⁣
That’s me! ☺️⁣
Happy Thursday!

Faith > Fear

7/15/2020

Faith > Fear⁣
⁣
It’s the theme I run into often {read: daily} as a mom, wife, entrepreneur, leader, and HUMAN. And right now, you better believe it’s a constant struggle. But I have a choice. ⁣
⁣
Do I choose to 𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 my vibration, my immune system, my emotions, and my mental capacity? Because whether we like it or not, THAT IS WHAT 𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗥 DOES. ⁣
⁣
Or...⁣
Do I choose to 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲 that vibe, boost that immune system, heal my body and emotions, and kick my brain up a notch just by leaning into 𝗙𝗔𝗜𝗧𝗛? Faith is believing in the unseen; hoping when it feels hopeless; seeing something that no one else can see. ⁣
⁣
“Sometimes life is about risking everything for a dream no one can see but you!”⁣
⁣
I’ll see you that quote (that 9/10 entrepreneurs have on their vision board) and raise you the power of another person believing 𝘞𝘐𝘛𝘏 you. ⁣
I’ll believe with you. I’ll hope with you.⁣
What are you holding onto faith for right now? ⁣
Picture
Every day is a choice...
Faith or fear?
Positive mindset or negative?
Glass half full or half empty?
It’s your choice.
I know what mine will be.

Push

7/14/2020

𝗣𝘂𝘀𝗵⁣
𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘣 (used without object)⁣
• to exert a thrusting force upon something.⁣
• to make one's way with effort or persistence, as against difficulty or opposition.⁣
• to put forth vigorous or persistent efforts.⁣
⁣
I’ve birthed 7 babies. ⁣
I’ve helped families prepare for it in my Childbirth Education classes and guided mommas through it as a Doula.⁣
So, I guess you could say I’m familiar with the term. ⁣
⁣
But there’s always this point... ⁣
RIGHT BEFORE a baby is about to be born... ⁣
often juuuuuust moments before the actual push begins...⁣
𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁. ⁣
⁣
Why? ⁣
TRANSITION.⁣
You see, the most intense part is in fact NOT the push. It’s the stage that leads up to it. This is the part when your body shakes, you are focused & intense, the odds are stacked against you mentally, your emotions are all over the place, and YOU THINK YOU CAN’T GO ON.⁣
⁣
“𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯’𝘵! 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯’𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦!”⁣
⁣
This is the cry of many a momma in this stage.⁣
But this is also the moment that every Doula, Midwife, and L&D nurse who knows birth can tell you... you’re almost there. ⁣
⁣
The moment you say you can’t, is when your team rallies around you and says,⁣
“𝗬𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻! 𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲! 𝗪𝗲’𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂!”⁣
⁣
Now, the push IS next, but it isn’t easy. Your body is doing something huge, and you need your strength. So we hydrate, nourish, close our eyes as we can, and remember all the preparation that has gone into this moment. But the unknown is over. It’s time. When you begin to push, it’s the last, final minutes (or hours) before you meet your baby. ⁣
⁣
I’m gonna make my analogy really clear.⁣
Some of us think we are pushing (in our marriage, relationships, businesses).⁣
BUT IT’S ONLY BEEN TRANSITION.⁣
The transition is mentally and emotionally draining. We have to keep going, through the waves of hard things. We have to do the work; the prep. We hydrate, nourish, rest. We do the next right things. We rally our support team. ⁣
THEN WE TAKE A DEEP BREATH,⁣
𝘸𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘨𝘶𝘵 & 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯,⁣
𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗵.⁣
It’s time.

Futuristic

7/13/2020

I’m digging into who I am. I’m learning to pair my energy with my Enneagram with my strengths. I’m learning to show up in that space; to lead from that space; to own that space. ⁣
⁣
My number one Strength, according to the Gallup Strengths Finder Assesment, is 𝗙𝗨𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗖.⁣
⁣
“People who are especially talented in the Futuristic theme are inspired by the future and what could be. They then inspire others with their visions of the future.”⁣
⁣
𝘍𝘶𝘯 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘵: 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘸𝘰 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦-𝘧𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘛𝘰𝘱 𝟻... 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘣𝘰𝘵𝘩 𝘢 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵 + 𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘵-𝘧𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘉𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘰𝘮 𝟻. ⁣
⁣
What does that mean?⁣
It means that I have no business hanging out with ideas or emotions that are rooted in the present or the past. That I lead and grow and inspire and achieve... BY LOOKING FORWARD! ⁣
I am future focused and gosh darn it, I’m THRILLED about it! ⁣
⁣
So. The question now becomes, “what do I see for the future?” 🤔 Hmm...
I see a group of EMPOWERED MOMMAS, working together to raise their babies in a toxin-free lifestyle, while they share natural solutions with other moms. They are full of positivity. They know who they are and where they are going. They have fun, laugh a lot, and love a good challenge. They are confident. They are driven. They always do the things they said they would do.

Is that you? Join us tomorrow to learn how you can be a part of this phenomenal community of women!

My Strengths Story

7/11/2020

Did you know, that there’s only a 1 in 131 BILLION chance that there will be another person with the same exact strengths that you possess? ⁣
YOU are 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲! ⁣
You 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 be duplicated! ⁣
⁣
This past week I created something I’ve been avoiding and I’d like to share it with you all. ⁣
⁣
This is my Strengths Story...⁣
⁣
My name is Kourtney Walker-Owens, and I do everything in a way that honors my desire to move people forward.⁣
How I do that is by inspiring others with my visions of the future. I seek to take someone’s strengths and transform them into something even more superb. When faced with road blocks or different scenarios, I can easily spot relevant patterns or issues and create alternative ways to proceed that can still move toward the desired goal. I want to do important, impactful, and significant things in the world. I have the unique ability to prioritize actions and then act, always staying on track with goals. I find it easy to put my thoughts into words through writing and presenting. I can, and will, make things happen by taking thoughts or ideas and turning those into action. I don’t sit around and wait. I love winning others over. I get great satisfaction from making true connections with people. I am intrigued with the unique qualities of each person and have a gift for figuring out how people who are different can work together productively. I have an enthusiasm that is contagious. I am always on the lookout for the positives in every situation! ⁣
And I do all of this better than anyone else on the planet!⁣
⁣
When we know 𝘄𝗵𝗼 we are and what 𝗴𝗶𝗳𝘁𝘀 we bring to the table, we are able to step into our authentic selves. When we function through this authenticity, our lives begin to flow more easily. ⁣
⁣
Know who you are. ⁣
Remember who you are. ⁣
Love who you are.

TOGETHER

7/10/2020

If the phrase “we’re all in this together” now makes you simultaneously question the government while you hear the High School Musical song in your head... 𝘆𝗼𝘂 are probably my people. ⁣
⁣
While I am an avid HSM fan, here’s where 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 is REALLY my jam. ⁣
⁣
I have a team of powerful, driven women that I work with. I use the term “work” loosely. The work we do is focused, it’s fast-paced, and it’s not easy. But it’s simple. And I can hardly call it a job. Because the word “job” gives the connotation that this is 9 to 5, mundane, and involves a cubical. Bleh. Not my vibe. ⁣
⁣
Here’s what I do:⁣
Every day, I 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 with leaders who want to make a difference and impact others’ lives. I troubleshoot any problems they are having, answer questions, and inspire them. ⁣
⁣
Every day, I 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 my team by providing recipes, essential oil tips, or empowerment to take charge of their family’s healthcare. ⁣
⁣
Every day, I 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 people who are interested in a wellness lifestyle. I send them samples to try, guide them through experiencing the oils, and help them feel confident to use these oils in their home. ⁣
⁣
I work 20 hours a week. I don’t have to. Many of my leaders do more like 10 hours a week. I wear a lot of pajamas and leggings. I rarely wear shoes. I take bathroom breaks when I want, eat snacks when I want, and can take care of kiddos as needed. ⁣
⁣
We fit this business into our lives, so that we can also still be kick-a** moms, spouses, fur mommas, friends, or whatever roles we hold. Those roles support our title of “Wellness Advocate”. Often, those roles, and the people involved, are what sent us down this path to begin with. ⁣
⁣
That’s it. We do it together. We cheer each other on. We change the world, one drop at a time. ⁣
⁣
Come change it with us! ⁣
Now is the time. I’ve got a spot saved for you at the table. 💜

Join me next Tuesday to learn more!

Let's Do This... Together

7/9/2020

6 years ago, I started something. ⁣
⁣
It has been hard, but 𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴. As I removed the toxins in my home, I removed the toxins in my heart. As I grew as a leader, I grew as a human. To imagine my life outside of the community that I have created, makes me just a little sick. It’s truly one of the greatest 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 of my life to be partnered with the incredible individuals that this business brought me. I simply cannot fathom where I would be had I not said YES, 6 years ago. ⁣
⁣
Now I’m looking to you. ⁣
Are YOU going to say 𝘆𝗲𝘀? ⁣
Tomorrow could be the first day of the rest of your life. You could look back on July 10, 2020 as the day your life changed; the day you found financial 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺, 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲 for your family’s health, and a 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲 of world changers that you could link arms with. ⁣
Come on! Let’s do this. 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿. ⁣
⁣
I'm hosting a webinar next week for anyone who is interested in learning more about the amazing business that is literally THE BEST for moms. I'll be right there with you, every step of the way!

XOXO⁣

Sometimes, this whole thing seems too good to be true.

I am a mommy of  SEVEN (yes 7) beautiful kids! They are amazing, wonderful, hilarious & the greatest babies I could ask for! I am married to my best friend & high school sweetheart, Michael.

In 2010 I began a blog as an outlet for my writing... and also to talk about how cute my kids were. I had no idea where it would take me. In 2012, after the birth of our 5th child, we began Wonderfully Made Birth. That same year, we received an Autism diagnosis for our 3rd child. A year later, in 2013, we joined doTERRA International as Wellness Advocates. The journey is not easy, but it is ours. Join me as I record our crazy life, inspire other mommas, & laugh along the way!

    Interests
I love to craft. I love to decorate. I am passionate about natural living & natural birthing. Sometimes I write stuff. I plan parties like my life depended on it. My favorite color is pink. My house is definitely NOT taupe. I typically cannot keep plants alive. I am only allowed to have dogs as pets because all others tend to have the same end result as the plants. Luckily my track record with kids is pretty good! Also, I drink a lot of coffee. And I really like tacos.
