Michael and I have this little banter, mostly because he likes to poke fun of my bossiness. It's not being bossy if you're just telling people the right way to do things, though. Right?! The reality is I just say the things that needs to be said to keep this ship afloat! Well, conveniently he calls me "Captain". Like... of a boat. Ha!
At first I fought this silly name, but now I kind of like it. It suits me & I'm running with it! Don't worry, I'm not transforming my house into a nautical theme or anything. Haha! I'm just owning my Captain-like nature these days!
You guys. I do all of this in addition to trying to run a business. Not only am I trying to run business, I'm participating in an intensive program where I am now attending/teaching oils classes almost daily, traveling often, and pushing our Leaders just as hard as we are pushing ourselves. We have a goal to hit the rank of Diamond... and for a myriad of reasons, we are aiming to do that SOON. Anyone who has a clue what this means or had done this themselves will attest to the fact that this is ZERO PERCENT EASY! Ha!
So, here's my point. As the captain, I have to keep my stuff together. The moment I lose it... or mess up... or forget one thing... the whole ship could go down!
And so we did.
Last week, we hit some bumps in the road. If you can't tell, I struggle with giving control away. So, as I am in a business that is quite literally dependent on other people... to purchase, to order, to invite their friends, to follow through, to do their own classes, to do what they say they are going to do... I often find myself growing whether I like it or not. Last week was that week. My word for 2018 is BELIEVE. It took everything within me to BELIEVE that the outcome that was supposed to happen WOULD. In the end, it wasn't the outcome that I thought was supposed to happen.
At the same time, our son got some test results regarding special education services available to him that were the answer to years of prayers... while simultaneously being a big, fat, frustrating, closed door. That's a story for another day. All you need to know is that I was in an intense conflict between rejoicing and feeling completely hopeless.
Then I took Easter Sunday off with my family and everything fell apart.
The break itself was much needed! It was the moment that I had to breathe & NOT WORK that sunk us. I got to think clearly for the first time in months.
The ship sunk and it was the greatest thing that could have ever happened! I'm currently rowing back to shore in a rescue boat. I'm thinking. I'm processing. I'm re-assessing. By the time we get to shore, I'm sure I'll have full blueprints for a bigger, better ship. After all, I am the captain!
I am a mommy of SEVEN (yes 7) beautiful kids! They are amazing, wonderful, hilarious & the greatest babies I could ask for! I am married to my best friend & high school sweetheart, Michael.
I love to craft. I love to decorate. I am passionate about natural living & natural birthing. Sometimes I write stuff. I plan parties like my life depended on it. My favorite color is pink. My house is definitely NOT taupe. I typically cannot keep plants alive. I am only allowed to have dogs as pets because all others tend to have the same end result as the plants. Luckily my track record with kids is pretty good! Also, I drink a lot of coffee. And I really like tacos.
